CAN YOU SEE ME?
Nawab (age 12) and his friend Jabar make glue by boiling scraps of leather that they scavenged from debris, in Dhaka District of Bangladesh. The work – which exposes them to a myriad of toxic chemicals – earns each boy about 60 taka (approximately US$0.88) for each 13-hour shift. They are among nearly 215 million children involved in labour worldwide, of whom nearly 115 million work in hazardous conditions.
